Family Piknik is the best outdoor Techno festival in France. Launched in 2012 by French DJ-producer Christophe Gimenez aka Tom Pooks, Family Piknik offers 20 hours of underground music with the best underground DJ’s. From 2013 to 2015, Family Piknik hosted the whimsical cast of El Row, validating the concept of outdoor extravaganza.
Attendance has increased by an average of 35% year over year. In 2019, more than 20,000 people over two days enjoyed the joys of the festival. Opened to kids and families and with over 30 nationalities represented, Family Piknik has managed to become a globally recognized event.
Since 2012, we have hosted the best of the international underground scene: Carl Cox, Sven Väth , Maceo Plex , Solomun , Luciano, Sasha b2b John Digweed, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Âme, Dubfire, Jamie Jones, Josh Wink, Gui Boratto , Hernan Cattaneo, Pig&Dan , Marc Romboy , Fritz Kalkbrenner , Joseph Capriati , Adriatique , Michael Mayer , Matthias Tanzmann , Max Cooper , Coyu , Nastia , Stephan Bodzin , Rodriguez Jr. , Lee Van Dowski , Dave Seaman , Butch , Guy J , Davide Squillace , Nakadia , Mod3rn, and many more.
The Family Piknik 2023 weekend took place in Frontignan on August 5 & 6, in the Lucien Jean outdoor space (20 minutes from Montpellier, a few steps from the SNCF station and a few minutes from the beaches). Two days of open-air celebration around the best House, Techno, Deep, Indie, Micro artists : Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Ben Böhmer, ANNA, Popof B2B Space 92, Nakadia, Josh Wink, Marc Romboy, Hannes Bieger and many others.
