Israel Sunshine aka Artisano is a Venezuelan-born, Miami-based DJ, producer, and label founder whose career spans more than two decades at the forefront of electronic music. A pioneering figure of the 1990s scene in his home country, Israel went on to shape his own sonic identity after moving to Europe, where his early explorations in Ibiza and later base in Barcelona cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking artist with an unmistakable sound.
Best known internationally as a founding member of Fur Coat, Israel built a legacy with releases on iconic labels including Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations, Watergate Records, BPitch Control, Get Physical, Renaissance, Mood, and Systematic, among many others. Tracks like “You and I” with Cari Golden (2012), “U-Turn” (2014), and “There’s No Time” on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations became anthems, earning global recognition and propelling the duo into the spotlight. Their success led to high-profile appearances on the Balance Compilation Series, a celebrated BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and three consecutive years on Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs list. With Fur Coat, Israel performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages—from Coachella, Ultra, and Day Zero to clubs like fabric London, Watergate Berlin, Stereo Montreal, and Warung Brazil—while also launching Oddity Records, a respected imprint that provided a platform for both emerging talents and established names like Slam, Radio Slave, and Locked Groove.
