This next guest is part of a new generation of talent coming from Japan and slowly taking over the world. Cutting her teeth on the dancefloors of Tokyo, imus is a significant and perennial player on her local scene. She’s played at Keep Hush, contributed mixes to NTS Radio and delivered her mentally challenging techno to audiences at DJ Nobu’s Future Terror parties. At the end of 2023, she also launched eulb, an event series sitting at the ‘intersection of machine, band and dance that focuses on the aesthetic aspects of electronic and spiritual sounds’. Inspired by techno, bass and all things experimental, her work pulls heavily from her context at the centre of the Japanese sound, but pushes it further and develops something unique to her own experience. Her sets are large format trips into the strange realms of her mind-altering frequencies, sonorous and full-bodied ripples and beats that explore the fringes of dance music in all of its forms.
