Berlin based DJ/Producer Running Hot brings the spirit of summer to the Bassiani Podcast with a three hour, forty-five minute studio recording packed with breezy house. At a fresh 13 years old the native welshman’s intro to electronic music came in the form of rave tapes given to him by a school friend, and from there it was only up. A little older, he set up shop in London where he built a name for himself as versatile selector and resident at The Cause, before relocating to Germany where his talents have since found maximum latitude. His debut EP The Hardest Step Is Always First came out to critical acclaim in 2022, a stepping stone to further releases on labels like Certain Music, Permanent Vacation and Love on the Rocks. His upcoming release on self-titled imprint Running Hot Recordings It’s Best Not to Think About It (out June 12th), also promises to be a heavy-hitting drop run through with more of his infectious beats. Threaded into his sound are moments of 90s progressive house, Italo and sun-bleached disco that find their home as much at venues like Panorama Bar, Tresor and Fabric as on a golden hour rooftop steeped in love and good energy.
