“Hello, my name is Joanan, better known as “Tony Tormenta”, from Mexico City.
At very early age my taste for music has been differently influenced by my family, cousins and uncles – they taught me bands that I have never heard in my childhood, like Dance, House and Synthpop.
Inspired by “Everything But The Girl”, “Art of Noise”, “Propaganda”, “East of Wall” and “Prefab Sprout” in a mature age was discovering them, the best bands without a doubt.
It was until 2003 in the Love Parade that took place in Mexico, listening to all those sounds, and seeing how the deejay was the center of the movement, I wanted to be like them and stir the dancefloor up. That experience led me to meet many people who today I consider my best friends, who gave me the opportunity to show my work as a DJ. ‘Subway Club’, ‘Seek My Beat’ and where now is my home ‘Terror Clash’.”
Tony Tormenta was born as a project, as a synthesis of the Disco, House, EBM, Electro, Breaks, Techno trash and Darkwave, those same styles has taken me to important venues in the city- Kinky, Rico Club, Uta, La Mezcali, Real Under, Allende Red, Madero. Club, Pasaguero, BLACK (to mention a few), in addition to sharing a booth with the legends of the Mexican scene.
