Julie Marghilano is a highly skilled and versatile musician and performer. Her classical violin training, combined with her upbringing as the daughter of a jazz musician father and vocalist mother, has deeply influenced her creative pursuits and endeavors.
In addition to being a DJ, producer, and label owner of Sol Asylum, Julie is renowned for her diverse musical tastes, as evidenced by her extensive record collection spanning various genres of dance music and beyond. Having held coveted residencies at iconic Italian clubs like Peter Pan and Echoes, and currently throwing the first Sol Asylum party at the esteemed Berlin institution Heidegluhen , Julie has cemented her status as a respected figure in the global dance music scene.
Originally from Las Vegas, Julie now calls Berlin home and frequently travels worldwide, playing sets at venues and festivals such as Flash in Washington, Golden Records in New York, Slowdance in Moscow, and the Freerotation festival.
Recently, Julie has been exploring new musical frontiers, experimenting with different genres and even creating an experimental ambient track using seven violin loops for the Advanced Public Listening compilation alongside renowned artists like Matthew Herbert, Move D, Takeshi Nishimoto, Atom TM, and Ricardo Villalobos.
As a dedicated artist, Julie remains committed to realizing her musical vision through vinyl releases, secret AKA projects, and captivating DJ/live performances. She serves as an inspiration to others seeking their own forms of creative expression, both on and off the dance floor.
