Tracklistings Radio Show 016 – Didier Allyne (2nd Hour) Tracklist
Based in Paris, Didier Allyne is a part of pioneers in the French techno scene and has been travelling with his records everywhere in the world alongside artists such as Gilles Peterson, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, i-Cube, Mike Grant, Carl Craig, Jedi Knights, Swayzak, Ricardo Villalobos, The Idjut Boys and many others.
His music is not only for the dance floor but also for those ears who appreciate eclectic groove and refined rhythms. Didier Allyne embodies a certain kind of underground already in the mid 90’s and he cross-cuttingly approaches the scene even back then, when “French touch” was in full expansion.
In 1998, he launches the Parisian Track Record shop. Then, since the 2000’s he’s resident at Rex Club and works with key artists in the House & Techno scene. He’s been inviting a lot of exciting artists, such as DJ Qu, Scuba, Steven Tang, Anton Zap, and many more.
In 2005, he founds Syncrophone regarded as the main French Techno distribution company. Syncrophone is a venture which spawns its own label and launches local talents, some of them including Dan Ghenacia, D’Julz, Molly, Theo Parris, Voiski, and a large etcetera.
With Syncrophone Records, P&D (with Phil Weeks) and many other local labels, Didier Allyne is considered as one who built the revival of the Parisian scene with Zadig, Voiski, Lowjack, Society of Silence, Professor inc, MZKBX, Lueke, Bernadott and many more.
In 2013, he launches a new label: Manicheisme. Didier Allyne is one of the most relevant French Dj, well known as a master of technique, respectful of the dance floor, but mostly blessed with an ability to anticipate and surf on all new trends. He also has his own talk show on Rinse France.
Since 2021, he stopped working on Syncrophone to resume his personal artistic activities for Traffic Attic & other projects planned to come.
This time, we present one of Didier’s sessions recorded around 2001, which was never released to the public (until now). You can tell from the musical style that those were other times, when House music was at its most fundamental: harmonically complex, rhythmically appealing and inspiring as ever. It is certainly music that would defy all the trash and conformity that has been circulating in clubs in recent times.
In addition, Riky Jacho managed to give it the “kiss of life” with his remastering attempt, in hopes to restore some quality to the recording. It’s safe to say the process went as expected.
